How I Came Back and Left Again

So, I neglected to blog for awhile. Here's what happened: Mal Pais and south couldn't offer a reliable net connection, Tamarindo is more like Disneyland than Costa Rica, and I didn't have enough blood to offer los zancudos de Puerto Viejo. I don't like disneyland or bloodletting.

So, I flew back to San Diego to regroup. The timing worked out, as my old bedroom on the cliffside oceanfront apartment just happened to become vacant for a month. This provided the perfect spot to get in a little surfing, practice my spanish and set my next plan in motion. Barcelona.

A twenty-year dream in the making, I will now at last be moving to Spain. Following a four day stopover in New York City, I will arrive in Barcelona on April 3, via London's Heathrow Airport, and head straight to an apartment I'll be subletting in the neighborhood known as l'Eixample (eh-hawm-pluh, as I believe it's pronounced). Turns out, a friend of Roy (see below) has been living in BCN for years, but will be out of town the next couple months, so I will take over his room and his roommate while I gets my bearings in Europe.

It goes without saying, I am incredibly excited, and will blather endlessly about it here. Using the magic of VOIP technology (internet telephony) I will be available 8 hours ahead of Pacific time by local (to LA) phonecalls, hopefully at the same old number I've had for years, so I might also blather about it on the phone from time to time, probably with an affected catalunyan lithp, rolled Rs and the dithered Ds of my newly adopted nation.

Til then, I finally have photos to display of Costa Rica, courtesy of the same Roy Dank. Enjoy!
